Peter Christian’s Original mustard sauce has been the tavern’s signature since the 1973. The sweet and spicy mustard contains no preservatives or salt and does not require refrigeration after opening. Our mustard is made using a slow cooking process and each jar is capped by hand to insure quality and consistency. It needs to cook four to five hours for the mustard flour and the sugar to thicken.
Carefully watched to do so, without burning.What’s the secret? It is not the contents, everything is on the label: brown sugar, cider vinegar, ground mustard seed. It is the amount of each ingredient that is kept secret.
